1.1 ID check

1)Q:“Good morning/ good afternoon. My name‘s X。 Can you tell me your full name, please?

2)Q: “What can I call you?”

3)Q: “Can you tell me where you’re from?”;

4)Q: “Can I see your identification, please?”

?Q: “Good morning/ good afternoon. My name‘s X。 Can you tell me your full name, please?“

a) 不要说“Good morning, Mr. John.”。 比较合适的回答是:“Good morning, John.(留意考官的名字) My name is Yang Yimin but I go by Catherine.(如果你有英文名,其实没有也可以去一个呀!go by 会给你加好多好多分的,go by 是个地道表达,这句话的意思就是“我叫杨伊敏,但是我比较喜欢被人称呼我为Catherine”)”

d) 不要说“Yang is my family name and Yiming is my given name。”。

?Q: “What can I call you?”

c) 不要说“You may call me Robert。” 可以说:“Please call me Robert。”或是 “ You can call me Robert。”

d) 不要说“All my friends call me Robert”。

?Q:“Can you tell me where you’re from?”

a) 这个问题实际上等同于“Please tell me where you’re from。”

c) 千万不要说:“I came from Changsha, Hunan Province。” 不要说:“I come from Changsha, which belongs to Hunan Province。

?Q: “Could I see your identification, please?”

c) 千万不要说:“Here you go。” or, “There you go。”

或者是 “Of course。 Here you are。” 一般而言,在餐厅吃饭的时候顾客问“Could I have a menu, please?” Here you are。”

?Q:How was your family dinner on this?

 Do you like travelling?

You bet! I am a big fan of travelling around. I spend months all together each year to go somewhere else. I feel that it’s not only an indispensable part of my life, but also can culture my mental development.

In which seasons do you prefer to travel?

I guess the autumn is the best time to travel, as it is neither too hot nor too cold, people will feel comfortable to go out. Besides, as the foliage of trees will turn yellow or red, you will find the picturesque views all around you. Wherever you go, you will experience a memorable trip.

Would you say your country is a good place for travellers to visit?

Yes, Chinese people are renowned for their hospitality to visitors. And there are also numerous tourist attractions around the country. For instance, you can visit the natural landscape to see the picturesque views, or you can go to the historical relics to know the events through the long Chinese history, or you can just stay at the metropolises to experience the local people’s lifestyle.

Describe an interesting tourist attraction

You should say

Where it is

What you can do there

And explain why you think it is interesting

Ok then, well the tourist attraction that I’d like to talk to you about is West Lake, which is here in Hangzhou. And I apologize if you’ve already heard a lot of other candidates talk about it, but out of all the tourist attractions I know, West Lake is the one I’m most familiar with, and I really do think it lives up to its reputation as being one of the most beautiful lakes in China.

But anyway, as for where it is, well as I mentioned just now, it’s here in Hangzhou, but to be more specific, it’s actually right in the heart of the city, so um… yeah, it’s very accessible, and also very easy to find. For example, it’s only, like, a five-minute taxi ride from the train station, and you can also get the subway there.

And um… regarding what you can do there, well, a good way to take in all the scenery is to just wander around the lake. And there are also quite a few teahouses dotted around the lake, some more expensive than others, I might add, so if you do go to one, it’s a good idea to take a quick look at the prices before you sit down and make yourself comfortable, otherwise you might be in for a bit of a shock!

What else? Um..…. Oh yeah, of course, you can go on a boat on the lake, and if it’s your first time there, then it’s something you should definitely do, because I’d say it’s probably the best way to experience the beauty of the lake and its surroundings.

So yeah, it’s a really interesting place to visit, and if you haven’t been there yet, you should definitely go if you ever have the chance!

discus?

1. What is the climate like in your hometown?

It's generally very hot in the summer, like about 40 degrees Celsius. In the winter, it's coldabout minus 14 degrees Celsius. The spring and autumn are both mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from around 12 to 25 degrees Celsius. Oh, and summertime is extremely humid as well..

There are four seasons. Winter is cold and snowy; spring is short and rainy; summer is hot and humid; and autumn is beautiful.

2. What is the weather like in Beijing?

In general, it's pretty dry. Winters are a bit cold. They are dry and windy, with a bit of snow. Spring is short and a bit windy. Summers are hot and a bit more humid, and temperatures can go as high as 30 degrees, so it can be kind of uncomfortable in the summer unless you have air conditioning. Fall is probably the best season-it's very comfortable-not windy, and not too cold or hot like the other seasons.

3. How would you compare the climate in your hometown with other cities? Well there are definitely places that have a milder climate. My hometown's weather is a little bit uncomfortable for some people in the summer and winter. There are places where the weather is quite stable all year round. On the other hand, there are some places where the weather's even worse, like in Daqing.

4. What're the advantages and disadvantages of the weather in your hometown?

Advantages and disadvantages? That's a difficult question to answer, let me think for a second. Well, I guess the main advantage is that its dry, so we don't have to worry about too much rain, and the winters are not too cold like in some other places in northern China. The disadvantage is that it can get windy here, and when there is a sandstorm, well, that can be terrible to put up with.

5. What's your favorite weather in your hometown?

Actually, I've never thought about that. I guess it would have to be a sunny but not too hot day. It would be just a bit hot, like the kind of weather we get here in Beijing during autumn.
